CA$262 for 7 pieces that would run CA$650+ at Lululemon-equivalent tiers — here's what held up after 60 days.

Fabletics Canada has been available since 2020, but reviews online are mixed and the VIP membership model confuses first-time buyers. So I bought seven pieces across three orders over 60 days — leggings, a sports bra, a jogger, a running short, a two-piece set, and a running top — and ran them through daily workouts, runs, and everyday wear.

Verified hands-on: three real orders over 60 days at VIP pricing. Score 8.2/10 — strong per-piece value and durability, dragged only by an opaque VIP pitch at checkout and inconsistent colour restocks.

01What is Fabletics — and the VIP model?

Fabletics is the Kate Hudson-co-founded activewear brand launched in 2013, selling leggings, sports bras, sets, and menswear under Fabletics Men. Sign up at your first order and you become a VIP member, paying a discounted first-order price (two leggings for CA$24 is a common promo). Every month after, you're prompted to either "Skip the Month" between the 1st and 5th, or a CA$59.95 credit is charged and redeemable on a "VIP outfit." VIP members see 20–50% off list prices at all times. It's legitimate once you understand it — the mixed reviews mostly come from people who signed up and forgot.

03Fit and material — 60-day summary

Powerhold 7/8 leggings are the workhorse piece — squat-proof, high compression, matte finish, comparable to Lululemon Wunder Train fabric. True-to-size for me (US 6 / CA 8, sized Small), no pilling after 15 washes. The Sync II sports bra is high-support with encapsulated cups, comparable to Lululemon Enlite but slightly less breathable and about 30% cheaper. The Motion 365 jogger is the softest piece I bought — loose, drawstring-waist, closer to Aritzia TNA joggers, better for lounging than high-intensity work. The two-piece set was the best value piece outright at CA$74 for a matched bra-and-short combo that would run CA$140–160 at Aritzia.

After 60 days: no pilling, fading, or seam issues on the leggings, jogger, or set shorts; mild fabric relaxation on both sports bras but still supportive. Overall durability held up well against Lululemon-tier expectations.

04The VIP membership — what to actually do

Log in between the 1st and 5th and click "Skip the Month" if you don't want to buy — that's the entire task. Skip 12 months straight and you pay zero recurring fees while still getting VIP pricing whenever you do shop. Forget, and CA$59.95 becomes a credit, not a loss — it rolls over indefinitely and can be cancelled any time with the balance still redeemable. The "forgot to skip" scenario is where the negative reviews come from; a phone reminder solves it entirely.

Where Fabletics could improve

None of this is a dealbreaker, but four things kept the score at 8.2 rather than higher:

  • The VIP pitch is opaque at checkout — I understand why negative reviews exist.
  • Colour drops land monthly but restock is inconsistent.
  • Limited technical-heavy pieces — no wet-weather running kit or ski-adjacent thermal gear.
  • The site's "Sale" section isn't always the deepest discount — VIP-only pricing on new arrivals often beats it.

Buy in if…

  • You want Lululemon-comparable fit at 40–55% less
  • You'll actually manage the 30-second monthly skip
  • Sets and leggings are your primary category

Skip it if…

  • You need technical high-intensity fabrics or wet-weather kit
  • Managing a monthly reminder isn't realistic for you
  • Brand cachet matters more than price-per-piece

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a VIP to shop? No — non-members pay full list price, but VIP is where the value is.

What happens if I forget to skip? CA$59.95 credit added to your account, redeemable indefinitely on one VIP outfit, non-refundable.

Can I cancel anytime? Yes, by phone or chat — existing credits stay redeemable.

Is the material durable? After 60 days and 15+ washes on the leggings, no pilling or fading — comparable to Lululemon Wunder Train.

Do they ship across Canada? Yes — CA$8.95 standard shipping, free above CA$100, typically 3–6 business days depending on province.

How does the fit compare to Lululemon? True-to-size in leggings and sports bras across my seven pieces; the jogger and running top both ran slightly bigger. My usual Lululemon size (CA 8 / Small) fit consistently across the whole order.

Verdict

After 60 days and CA$262 spent, Fabletics Canada delivers real value for anyone willing to manage the VIP membership. The monthly skip is a 30-second task; do it and the savings versus Lululemon or Alo are substantial on comparable-quality pieces.
